STEPS TO BECOMING PART OF OUR PRACTICE

First Visit

Your first visit to our office is very important to us. It gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and determine what you hope to accomplish with your smile.

Please help us be prepared for your first appointment by downloading our patient forms, filling them out and bringing them with you to our office. This will enable us to begin your visit without delay. A panoramic x-ray is usually taken if not available from your general dentist. This x-ray shows all the teeth and is different from the cavity detection x-rays taken by your general dentist. A thorough oral exam and review of the panoramic film will enable Dr. Davis to give you his professional recommendations regarding your orthodontic care (what type of treatment, if any, is needed; when it would start; how long treatment will last, etc.). Dr. Davis will communicate with your general dentist regarding his recommendations for treatment.

If orthodontic treatment is recommended, a staff member will discuss fees for service, flexible payment options, and appointments. Orthodontic treatment is an excellent investment in the overall dental, medical, and psychological well being of children and adults. Financial considerations should not be an obstacle to obtaining this important health service. Being sensitive to the fact that different people have different needs in fulfilling their financial obligations, we can help you with flexible payment options.

Diagnostic Records

Diagnostic records are taken and used to develop a custom treatment plan for each individual patient. Complete diagnostic records include: photographs of the patient’s face and teeth, x-rays, impressions for study models, and bite registrations.

These materials can be taken at the initial visit or at another appointment time. If you elect to have diagnostic records taken on the same day as your initial visit, a special discount will be given on the treatment fees.

Consultation

Once Dr. Davis analyzes the diagnostic materials, he will discuss a treatment plan with the parent and or patient that is specifically designed for the patient’s orthodontic needs. If you have questions regarding treatment, they will be addressed at this appointment. Previously discussed payment options and insurance needs will be finalized.

Regular Appointments

You will be seen in our office at regular intervals of every seven to eight weeks for an adjustment. We make every effort to make patients feel better when they leave than when they arrived. The length of appointments vary depending on the stage and progress of treatment. We do our very best to be on time for our patients, getting you in and out as quickly as possible.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify us as soon as possible. We will make every effort to reschedule your appointment at a time that is convenient for you.

Payment

Orthodontic treatment is an excellent investment in the overall dental, medical, and psychological well being of children and adults. Financial considerations should not be an obstacle to obtaining this important health service. Being sensitive to the fact that different people have different needs in fulfilling their financial obligations, Dr. Davis offers a number of flexible payment options.

Cost

The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including no-down-payment options, financing via healthcare financing programs as well as interest free financing.

Payment in Full

You will receive a 5% bookkeeping courtesy by paying the fee in full prior to or on the day treatment begins.
Bookkeeping courtesy does not apply to Healthcare Financing Programs.

Insurance and Flexible Spending Accounts

Many dental insurance plans include orthodontic benefits that cover a portion of orthodontic treatment. Please contact your insurance company prior to your appointment to verify coverage. Bring your insurance information with you to the initial appointment.

Our office will make every effort to maximize your insurance reimbursement for covered procedures. The more you know about your policy, the more we can assist you with filing your claims. As a courtesy, we will file your insurance claims with the insurance company. However, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor.

If you have a Flexible Spending Account, we will be happy to assist you with any paperwork that might be required.
